Amethyst bracelet and earrings set

Posted on Feb 19, 2011 | 0 comments

Last year has been rather difficult and quite uninspiring and I realize I’m in good company on that front. As a result, I haven’t made any jewelry and channeled all my creativity into photography and cooking. So I was quite excited when inspiration started to tickle again and I dragged out all my jewelry-making supplies into my living room. And there they sat for a few days till that fickle inspiration returned. But this time, I was ready for it! Don’t you ever feel like if you don’t have your hobby “stuff” at hand, no matter how inspired you are, you’re just not going to do it? And I just don’t have that kind of...

Red Dahlia Fine Art Print

Posted on Dec 26, 2010 | 2 comments

I just love this flower.  I took this picture at the Chicago Botanic Gardens shortly before I was leaving for the day, and the sunlight hit it just right to make it glow.  I love it when the sun sets things aglow.  That’s my favorite time of day too, that time just before the sun starts its decline and everything is bathed in gold. But I also like playing around with Photoshop and decided to try out this photo in black and white and in sepia. What’s your favorite print here, if any?  I can’t quite decide, but I seem to gravitate towards the the first one (with the center of the flower in the upper right). To purchase this, or any other print or...

Introducing Prints

Posted on Feb 13, 2010 | 0 comments

Wow, it’s been a really long time since I posted here. It’s been even longer since I’ve indulged in my passion for jewelry making. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on something. I’ve been getting much more into photography. I’m still learning and trying, but I think I got a few great shots here and there. Well, at least my family and friends seem to think so. So, without further ado, here are some of the prints that I posted on the etsy site. Share...

Shell Cuff Bracelet

Posted on Aug 23, 2009 | 0 comments

I got this bead a long time ago and found it when I was organizing my beads. It just seemed perfectly suited for a cuff-type bracelet based on it’s shape, so I let that be my guide and inspiration. The texture and color of this bead is just amazing. It changes with movement and sunlight. Additionally, I like things that are elegant and sometimes understated. This isn’t understated, but I think the black beads provide the level of simplicity and sophistication I was looking for. Share this:

Creativity – Where do you get yours?

Posted on Feb 19, 2009 | 0 comments

Lately, my creative juices have been running a little dry for jewelry making.  Maybe it’s because I have a lot on my mind, maybe because I have a lot of work, or maybe because I’m working on a few other project. I’ve also been out taking pictures when the weather is a little nicer.  We’ve had a few days of warmer weather last week, so I went to Cedarburg to take pictures of a waterfall.  Instead, I was completely fascinated by a bunch of ducks that were enjoying the weather as much as we were.  Doesn’t this duck look like he’s saluting?  So cute!  And I don’t even particularly like ducks. I’m thinking of...

Little Sunshines Set

Posted on Feb 6, 2009 | 0 comments

I’ve had these funky beads for a few years before I decided what I wanted to do with them. It seems to be a theme here, but perhaps it’s true with the pieces I’m making recently. You see, I’ve been trying to live to my newly-adopted philosophy of using everything I have, not wasting anything. This started with food, but it seems to be spilling into other aspects of my life and I like it. Back to the beads though. When I purchased them, I didn’t realize all the variation in them: some are smaller and brown and not shiny, some are greener and shiny and some are slightly more brownish pink and shiny. Once I realized all the variety, the...

Rivers of Green – Moss Agate Bracelet and Necklace

Posted on Feb 6, 2009 | 0 comments

This just reminds me of spring so much, and at this point in the winter, I like ANYTHING that reminds me of spring. The moss agate looks like spring suspended in some magical vessel. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with these beauties and I settled on something very simple, uncluttered, and elegant. Hope you enjoy this set as much as I do. This set includes a bracelet and a necklace, but I can sell them separately. To purchase this, or any other piece of jewelry, please visit my Etsy site: www.artisancreated.etsy.com Share...

Pink Flower and Agate

Posted on Jan 13, 2009 | 0 comments

I saw these gorgeous Agate stones at a bead show a few years ago and have been saving them for something special. It took me a long time to figure out what to do, but I made a necklace for my sister as the first use of these great beads. My second project was this classic combination of Pink and Black. Dazzle with this set in your perfect little black dress, or dress up a pair of jeans. This is an extremely versatile set.
