Independence Day is really my favorite holiday.  We’re truly blessed to live in a place where your own merit can get you as far as you want to go, where you can make something of your self and your life, if you so choose.  And that deserves a celebration.  This year, my folks and I got together a day earlier.

I marinated some chicken and then dad and I grilled it, some dilled fingerling potatoes made an appearance and of course, there was smoked mackerel.  To round out the feasting, we had some grilled fish (rainbow trout), and some yummy chicken wings.  It was a lovely day with family.
